My customer is a leading retailer, and are currently looking for a SQL Server DBA to join the MIS team.
The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain the company's SQL Server data warehouse and OLAP solutions. You will ensure the smooth running of the daily ETL process, monitor performance and have input into backup and recovery strategies. This will include monitoring the ETL over weekends on a rota with other members of the MIS team. You will also work with our MIS analysts to deliver reporting and other data requirements across all locations in the business.
Collaboration with their third party consultants on future development projects will be important. You will be expected to play a central role in their planned upgrade to SQL Server 2014. As the senior SQL Server authority in the business, you will also be required to provide varying degrees of DBA support for a number of database servers in the business.
Required Experience: SQL Server 2005/2008 (R2)/2012 Administration
*Planning, installation and configuration
*Capacity planning and partitioning
*Performance monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting
*Creation and maintenance of ETL processes using SSIS
*T-SQL including stored procedures, functions and query optimisation
*Familiarity with SSRS and Report Server configuration
Other key skills
*Implementation and maintenance of SSAS cubes
*Excellent communication skills
*Strong analytical and problem solving skills
*Experience of TFS/Visual Studio Source Control
*Experience of IBM DB2, MySQL and Power BI desirable
